2 Akshara Kids not allowed to give exam

Medchal District’s Akshara International School has restricted the entry of two students to the school as they had not paid the school fees.

In a similar incident, Spring Fields School in Tolichowki also prevented children from writing the examination for non payment of fees.

Child right activists said that it was the duty of parents to pay the fee on time as when they had enrolled their children private schools, they knew about the high fee structure. But at the same time, paying fee is a contract between the parents and the school and children should not be dragged into this. Also schools should not ask the fee from children or insult them for not paying the fee which would attract Juvenile Justice Act of care and Protection. This would irrevocably harm the child, said Mr Achyuta Rao, a child rights activist.

Tweenage kids hooked to Vlogging says Lara Prendergast

Vlogging can now be a well-paid career.

One in three children between the ages of 11 and 16. have uploaded a video to YouTube.

In a survey last year, 75per cent of the children asked said they wanted to be YouTube stars. The research also revealed that many of the children would rather learn video-editing than history or maths. Unlike the more traditional dream jobs - pop star, doctor, footballer, astronaut - it doesn’t take much effort. All it require is a smart phone and gallons of youthful self-confidence.

There are plenty of people with that who have made millions from their respective channels.

Not every child can be Zoella. In reality, the most they’ll end up with is an embarrassing collection of videos they’ll want to delete later in life. So the real winners, as usual, are the tech companies, who are constantly tweaking their systems to extract the maximum revenue from their audiences while sucking up consumer data.

Telangana State Schools Body Calls For Rally
Posted by: admin - 04-03-2018, 05:13 AM - Forum: News Digest - No Replies

The Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association [TRSMA] has called for a rally in the name of Shiksha Bachao Abhiyan at Ramleela maidan, Delhi on April 7, 2018

All the association members, teachers and parents will observe a black day on this date.

S.Sreenivas Reddy, President, TRSMA, said, “Around 950 schools in Telangana State were closed down during 2016 - 2017. If this continues, in the next five years most of the budget schools will shut down and children will be the ultimate sufferers.

Instead of supporting these schools the government is bringing new rules and regulations such as NOCs, Fire, traffic, etc., which are practically not possible to be satisfied by the schools. For every accidental incident that takes place, the school management, principal and teachers are held responsible and criminal cases are being booked against them, alleged the members.

NCERT books to have QR codes - Code to redirect students to syllabus-related videos

Code to redirect students to syllabus related videos

To be introduced from - Class 1 to Class Xiith from academic year 2019 - 2020

The quick response code will mostly be web links that can be read by smart phone cameras that will redirect the students to films, short videos and other additional information related to the syllabus in books

Deepthi Divakar, a teacher said that it is not advisable to have students mug up their syllabus and at the same time, complete digitisation of education is also not recommended. “This method will ensure a fine balance between the two. Students can choose to study more and read more as they wish at the time they feel it is convenient,” she said.
